Advanced Engineering

In the early stages of product development, Possehl Electronics supports its customers with an experienced team in the development of production-based solutions. During the development projects, all relevant factors regarding the cost-effective manufacture of the product are considered through simultaneous engineering. At this early stage, the fundamental, detailed knowledge of the individual departments is applied to the product design, and the subsequent development of a robust product for series-production.

Prototypes & Testing

Ideally, the customer orders the production of prototypes as A and B samples and their validation at Possehl Electronics. Thereby, all later stages, such as stamping, electroplating, molding and assembly can be thoroughly tested in advance. Risks to the project at a later stage, regarding deadlines, quality, cost and feasibility can thereby be significantly reduced.

Concept Development & Acquisition

Experts from all stages and departments work together to develop a coordinated manufacturing and tool concept for the series. This is based partly on the experience gained from the A and B samples, on the expertise of staff and the experience of producing similar products. Subsequently, the offers and concepts are coordinated with the client in detail to meet the necessary requirements.

Development of tools, plant and processes

As part of the project implementation, the estimates made in the acquisition will be gone over in further detail. The focus here is the development of the necessary FMEAs, specifications, simulations and CAD data, taking into account the relevant standards and design guidelines. The competence of long-term employees in the respective departments is used in interdisciplinary teams in order to develop and optimize the individual processes to each other.

Production & Procurement

During the procurement of the necessary tools, the individual components are graded into different categories. Complex components are manufactured in-house to ensure the highest quality and availability. All other components are purchased externally within our network and also partly in low-cost countries. Special devices such as handling systems and automated systems are procured from selected system suppliers by experienced Possehl Electronics employees.

Commissioning & SOP

All tools and equipment at Possehl Electronics are put into operation and optimized for mass production. One focus here is the dimensional recursion of injection molding tools, in order to achieve the required product tolerances. This whole process is also done in-house. The measurement samples are manufactured with in-house measuring instruments and equipment by experienced process engineers and are tactually measured and digitized. The tool components are adapted and edited according to the measurement results, until all requirements are met with respect to PPAP documentation. Series production is then approved, together with the customer, through an R & R and process audit.
